'Scuse me, son...

But I heard it was valentine's day and even that couldn't get you to comment on Cat Power or Aberfeldy!

Tut tut...

In an attempt to let people get their hands on it again, I have reposted the final two tracks off the C86 cassette here:

The Shrubs -'Bullfighter's Bones.' mp3 THIS LINK NOW FIXED

Wedding Present -'This Boy Can Wait (A Bit Longer!).' mp3 THIS LINK NOW FIXED

and here's a view tracks that really should be heard:

Only Ones -'Another Girl, Another Planet.' mp3

Richard Thompson -'1952 Vincent Black Lightning.' mp3

Darling Buds -'Uptight.' mp3

Wherever you may be, hope you've had a good day. I'm still enjoying my new job and will be even happier when spring comes...

aberfeldy and cat power not really my beverage of choice, so when you have nothing to say, better not to say anything. The only ones tune is one of the greatest songs ever written, even after the 8000000th listen it still raises the hairs on the back of neck.

A.J. -fair enough, I guess. Love the Only Ones track, it gets me every time. I still think that Dire Straits tried ripping it off in their early days (NB I did not say that the Only Ones sound like Dire Straits, but that I feel dire straits tried, without succeeding to copy that solo).

A well wisher -thank you, whoever you are!

as a foot note listen to you're always right by these animal men, and then marvel how they didn't get sued for ripping off the only ones, i think you can hear it on supersonic soul (a demented fan's site for T.A.M). i loved T.A.M for their 15 minutes, but this did take the piss

Me again. The last two C86 tracks links still don't work. Try zipping them both together under some odd name or something like that.

John Perry is one of THE most criminally underrated guitarists. And Mike Kellie is just an awesome sticksman

They were pretty damn good at last year's gigs too, although Perrett looks mummified.

cheers Ed! Craig

Cheers, Ed.

That Richard Thompson track is one of my all-time favourites too. Bloody excellent.

Let's be honest, Ed, following the vitriol flying about after Toad's tearing up of CP's latest is it any wonder no one is commenting?

:oP

craig -another band I haven't yet seen, a bit tragic with what happened to Perrett, I hope Pete Doherty takes note.

Rol -I have to confess to only having got into Richard Thompson in the last few years, he is fantastic both live and on record.

DC -True...

i've been on an enormous richard thompson kick lately. and although his version with nanci griffith it undeniable, i don't think it tops the del mccoury band's take...
